Picking up from where we last left off, the sumptuous bento lunch box gracefully filled our emptied stomachs and the timing of the afternoon couldn’t be better as we had a bit of time to kill before heading to The 2013 Sydney Brick Show at David Jones.
The 2013 Sydney Brick Show aka The Lego Show, David Jones in Sydney
The event occupied the period of the NSW schools’ term break from the 20-28th of April. What a place to release your inner child! The truth is my friend and I, two fully grown adults are packed with 童真 (translates to purity, innocence, naivety). We never grew up, the inner child never left us!
The show featured innovative and intricate designs like “The Love Boat,” a cruise ship based on the 70s TV show of the same name, interactive cities, film scenes i.e. Star Wars, games, famous architectures, characters and more. Majority of them were constructed by certified LEGO professionals while others … by LEGO passionate teenagers.
Next we have the robotics LEGO. Using remote control, the robotic arm proceeded to pick up a large “cargo” from the cargo ship at the dock and onto the trailer of a train.
Then, we came across this particular model, a scene from “Cowboy Vs Aliens”. Wait a minute, what happened to the next frame? We examined it carefully and thought it was part of the “effect”!
BUZZZZ! We were wrong as we read the explanation given next to the broken pieces.
Other interesting LEGOs designs.
Notice something else that doesn’t belong there?
